Boy Q: Negotiations in Flesh & Rubber

Inspired by Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Boy Q: Negotiations in Flesh and Rubber is a bold contemporary dance-theatre performance that dismantles the conventions of masculinity, femininity, and everything in between.

Blending explosive physicality, theatrical absurdity, intimate storytelling, original music, and unexpected encounters with rubber, seven performers navigate the shifting landscapes of gender, identity, power, and desire.

Through disguise, seduction, humour, and transformation, Boy Q creates a world where familiar rules unravel, identities multiply, and the body becomes a playground for radical possibility.

At once mischievous, sensual, confrontational, and tender, Boy Q invites audiences to question what we inherit, what we perform, and what becomes possible when we give ourselves permission to become something entirely new.
